Let’s make a deep connection today with ourselves and with this vast, beautiful universe we find ourselves. Science is showing that there is truth in visualization …
Hi, Lyssa here. I
just watched a movie documentary
on Netflix called The Octopus,
My Teacher, and it really put me in mind
of just the symbiotic
interconnectedness of all things. And
how we sometimes place ideas of good and
bad upon
things that happen. It was such a
profound documentary, I highly recommend
it. But I thought of this meditation and
visualization
around connecting to our own
interconnectedness
with all things. So I'd like to invite
you
into visualization around
our interconnectedness.
Take a few minutes to really become
comfortable in your body,
breathing in,
breathing out,
stretching your arms, and shoulders,
maybe stretching your neck out,
making sure you're feeling really
comfortable
in the space that you are, how you're
sitting
or lying down, your body standing,
allow yourself to begin to breathe
deeply down into your belly,
breathing in
and breathing out,
breathing in
and breathing out,
allow yourself to continue this rhythmic
breathing
noticing the breath as it comes
into your body moving down
through your lungs and into your belly,
maybe down to your toes and fingers,
just allowing yourself to enjoy that
cleansing breath
coming in,
and then letting go
and as you continue breathing in
and breathing out,
notice a connection to the universe
above you
coming down through the top of your head
and spiraling in, and around, and through
you,
breathing that energy in and down
through your body allowing
it to take away any discomfort
as it passes down, and through,
and around you, into the earth below,
breathing in
and breathing out,
you may see that light of the
universe
coming down in a color,
or brightness, or just the flow of
energy as it's moving
through, and around,
and down from the top of your head down
to the tips of your toes,
and then cycling deep into the earth,
and you're breathing in and out,
visualize
that energy that is coming
down through the heavens, and down
through your body, and into the earth
beginning to reach out
as you become a deeply
rooted tree,
breathing in
and breathing out,
notice this deeply rooted tree
where all the tendrils of your roots
begin to reach
and curl through the soil,
breathing in
and breathing out,
breathing in
and breathing out,
notice the tendrils of your roots as
they expand
out from you connecting
up to grasses, and flowers, and
other trees, moving through the soil
connecting
with the other life forms
that are moving through the same earth
you are,
and start to notice the
interconnectedness
that you see and feel,
breathing into that connection, breathing in
and breathing out,
breathing in
and breathing out,
allow yourself to begin to move through
this maze of
interconnections,
move you from the roots, your own
tree,
into the stems of flowers,
to grasses,
noticing how the energy cycles up
through the next
tree, and back into the universe,
cycling up only to continue to come
back down, this energy into you,
and as you notice this cycle of energy
between
you and things surrounding you,
just allowing this cycle
to move through and around you
into the earth and back out to the
universe,
in an ever-moving process,
breathing in and breathing out,
notice all of the other creatures,
human beings, animals,
birds, the waterways,
that all are connected through this
process of cycling
through this energy,
and notice your place within this cycle,
allowing this energy to spiral in,
and around, and through you,
breathing in
and breathing out,
breathing in
and breathing out,
and again allow this cycle to get
wider encompassing
a larger place on the planet,
and noticing all of the creatures that
live within this space that you also
live,
and the energy that is flowing through,
and in, and around them also,
as you touch and connect
and become part of the web of life
on this planet,
breathing in
breathing out,
breathing in
and breathing out,
and notice the abundance of love
that comes from the universe, and down in,
and around, and through you
into all of the things that you are
connected to
expanding out from the people you love,
to the animals you love,
to the animals that share the space
around you,
and the trees, and the flowers,
and the bugs, and the
fish, and
all the things that are around you,
spreading out across the entire planet,
and seeing that energy spiral that goes
around the earth,
and in and out through the poles,
spiraling around and around,
just like the energy going through you
into the earth, back to the universe,
and around and around
and noticing how connected you are
to the energy cycles of the planet,
breathing into that
and breathing out,
and allow yourself to be
in this space of intersection
and interconnection
with every living thing on this planet,
recognizing that this planet also
is alive, and you are a part of that,
breathing in
and breathing out,
and noticing any discomfort in your body
or in your mind and allowing that energy
to just wash that away,
as this too moves
into the intersection and
interconnection
of the world,
breathing in
and breathing out,
breathing in
and breathing out,
and as you begin to come back into your
body,
allow yourself to bring some element of
that energetic cycle
back into your heart,
breathing in
and breathing out,
and capture that feeling
of connection,
knowing you can never be disconnected
from the energy,
around you,
breathing in
and breathing out,
allowing yourself to enjoy that feeling
of the interconnection with all things.
